About YLA
Yeshwant Legal Associates has practised in Mumbai for more than twenty years. The network is where LL.B. and LL.M. students, juniors, and advocates study that work. It is not a hunt for clients.
A law college teaches the rule. A chambers teaches the file: the fact, the paper, the date, and the limit of what a student may say. YLA Legal Network is that second lesson, kept separate from a client's matter.
The twelve weeks
Read, watch, and draft on facts written for the exercise.
A circle of members
Students, juniors, and advocates. You connect only with people who accept.
A college application
Optional. The chambers decide. It is not a paid introduction.
Supervision, when there is real work
An advocate remains responsible. A student does not accept the brief.
Do not advise
A student or junior does not tell a person what the law requires them to do.
Do not promise a result
No outcome, hearing, or success is offered. A lawyer decides.
Do not quote a fee
Fees, if any, are a matter for the advocate and the person, not for this desk.
Do not hold out as counsel
Do not say you appear, act, or accept a brief.
Do not chase work
Trust is built by useful, accurate conduct. The network is not a way to collect clients.
Do not publish a live file
Names, papers, and facts from a matter stay in the matter room.
